August isn't the greatest month for shopping. It's too late to buy summer clothes and too early to need fall clothes. Avoid making wardrobe decisions you'll regret later by following these two easy style tips.
One, focus on your existing wardrobe in August. Make it a point to wear summer pieces you haven't worn yet. Avoiding certain items? Take a few minutes to try and style them in a way that feels fresh. If you can't make it work (or don't want to), then it may be time to let go.
Two, make sure any purchases you make this month are items you'll continue wearing into fall (or as we call it in Austin, extended summer). Tune out end-of-season sales for high summer items. I promise you'll want to feel more fall-ish after Labor Day even though it's hot.
